Biography

Pablo Woiz is an Argentine pianist, arranger, composer, and music educator based in Berlin since 2007. Born in Argentina, he completed his piano studies at the Conservatorio Juan José Castro in Buenos Aires, studying with renowned teachers Aldo Antognazzi and Gabriel Senanes. Woiz is a prominent exponent of tango and Argentine music in Europe, combining traditional tango with explorations of Rio de la Plata musical roots and Argentine folklore.

As a bandleader and collaborator, Woiz directs three major projects: Pablo Woiz & Milonga Roots (an experimental crossover investigating African and indigenous influences on tango), the Traditional Tango Trio, and a Quintett ensemble. He has performed and recorded with legendary tango musicians including Juan José Mosalini, Luis Stazo (Grammy winner), Alfredo Marcucci, and Anabella Zoch. Notably, Woiz participated in the Tango Pasión European touring production (2009, 2015, 2019) alongside Luis Stazo and Gabriel Merlino. His discography includes Perspectiva 204 (2014, with guitarist Federico Diaz), Vol. I (2017), Santo Remedio (2022), and Berretín (2024, with vocalist Noelia Tomassi). His arrangements emphasize piano as the lead voice in traditional tango interpretation.
