Patricio Noé Crom

Biography

Patricio Noé Crom is an Argentine tango guitarist, composer, and arranger born in Buenos Aires in 1985. He completed professional training in tango guitar and arrangement at the Academia Nacional del Tango (2004–2006) under maestro Aníbal Arias, supplemented by studies in Andean wind instruments and composition. Beginning his career in 2010, Crom partnered with vocalist Juan Villarreal to form the Villarreal Crom duo, performing in Buenos Aires milongas and clubs before becoming one of the most recognized tango duos internationally. The partnership has undertaken extensive tours across Latin America, Europe, and the United States, appearing at venues including CCK Symphonic Hall in Buenos Aires, Lyon Tango Festival, and Philadelphia Tango Festival. Crom is primarily known for his 7-string guitar arrangements and original tango compositions. He has released seven studio albums with Villarreal, including De Corte Romántico (2012), Cinco Otoños (2016), D’Arienzo en Guitarras (2022, a tribute to Juan D’Arienzo), and Moderno Trovador (2023). The duo appeared on the cover of Tangodanza magazine in 2022. As a soloist, Crom performed with the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de San Martín and the Orquesta Juvenil Libertador San Martín in works by Astor Piazzolla.

Sources note: Sources indicate that the Villarreal Crom duo formed their partnership in 2010 (per villarrealcrom.com/en/biography/). Earlier career details mention 2008 performance with Astor Piazzolla Youth Symphony Orchestra and 2012 performance with Orquesta Juvenil Libertador San Martín, suggesting pre-2010 musical activity in youth orchestras before the Villarreal-Crom duo formation.
