About

Solo Tango Orquesta is a Moscow-based tango ensemble founded in August 2010 by violinist Alexander Ryazanov. The orchestra comprises Ryazanov (violin), Pavel Ratynsky (bandoneon), Ilya Alpeev (double bass), and Marat Mansyrev (piano), all trained at Moscow’s leading conservatories. Gaining rapid international recognition, the ensemble won first prize at Italy’s Città di Castelfidardo competition in October 2010 in the Piazzolla’s Music category. Solo Tango is the only European tango orchestra nominated for the prestigious Premios Tango awards (Buenos Aires, 2018–2019) and won the 2018 Mundial de Tango in Buenos Aires with “Los Mareados.” The group performs at major concert venues worldwide including the Berlin Philharmonic and Moscow Conservatory’s Great Hall, and serves as the official orchestra for major international festivals including Ostertango Festival (Basel) and the Istanbul Tango Festival. With collaborations including Argentine vocalist Chino Laborde and bandoneonist Lautaro Greco, Solo Tango maintains a significant presence on streaming platforms and maintains concert subscriptions at Moscow’s most prestigious classical halls.
