Sexteto Obsesión Tango

Sexteto Obsesión Tango is a Berlin-based ensemble of six professional tango musicians formed in autumn 2012 to stage the Tango-Dinner-Show “Obsesión Tango.” The sextet comprises musicians trained in both Berlin and Buenos Aires, bringing together the distinctive quality of sound and pulsating power characteristic of Argentine tango. More agile than a large Orquesta Típica and more polyphonic than a quartet, the group presents a varied repertoire blending classical tango compositions with contemporary arrangements. In 2013, the ensemble recorded their album “Obsesión Tango” through La Casa Del Tango Berlin, featuring 23 tracks ranging from traditional favorites by composers such as Pugliese and Di Sarli to lesser-known gems from the tango canon. The ensemble’s approach emphasizes precision and joy in performance while maintaining strong connections to tango’s Argentine roots and musical traditions.
