Quinteto Roberto Siri

Also known as: Roberto Siri Quinteto, Sexteto Roberto Siri

About

The Quinteto Roberto Siri is a traditional Argentine tango ensemble directed by pianist and bandoneonist Roberto Siri, featuring Inés Flores on bandoneon, Luis Alberto Simo on violin, Oscar Pittana on contrabass, and vocalist Juan Pablo Beltrán. Operating from Buenos Aires, the quinteto performs and records classic tango compositions and original works. The ensemble has toured extensively across Europe, including performances in Hamburg, Madrid, Stockholm, London, Warsaw, Prague, Berlin, and Munich. Roberto Siri, born in 1939, began his musical career in 1954 as a child prodigy, earning recognition as “America’s youngest conductor.” Beyond his work with the quinteto, Siri founded a youth orchestra in 1982 that became an incubator for prominent tango musicians including Marcelo Nisinam, Roxana Fontán, and Héctor del Curto. The quintet has recorded three albums under Acqua Records: Evocando al ’40 (2013), Tanguero (2015), and 70 Años de Tango (2018), performing the canonical tango repertoire with musicianship rooted in traditional arrangements and orchestration.
