About

Orquesta Silbando is a contemporary Argentine tango ensemble based in Paris, France, founded in 2010. The orchestra emerged from the prestigious Tarbes International Tango Festival’s orchestra workshop, bringing together ten young musicians of diverse nationalities—French, Argentine, Chilean, and Spanish—united by a shared commitment to promote and reinterpret Golden Age Argentine tango while establishing a fresh artistic identity. Led by pianist and arranger Chloë Pfeiffer (a laureate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris), the ensemble features violinists Mathias Naon and Aurélie Gallois, bandoneonists Lysandre Donoso and Carmela Delgado, and vocalist Sebastián Rossi, among others. The orchestra specializes in performing both vocal and instrumental tangos from the 1930s–1960s golden age, alongside contemporary compositions and personal arrangements. Since its formation, Silbando has performed hundreds of concerts throughout Europe, becoming recognized as one of Europe’s most sought-after Argentine tango orchestras. The ensemble has broadcast regularly on French radio stations (FIP, France Inter, RTL, RFI) and Argentine broadcasters (2×4, CAFF Buenos Aires). The orchestra has released three albums: the self-titled debut (2012), Manos Arriba (2015), and Mano Siniestra (2018), each showcasing Pfeiffer’s sophisticated arrangements and the ensemble’s distinctive “contagious energy” and refined interpretative approach.
