Ojos de Tango

About

Ojos de Tango is a contemporary Argentine tango sexteto típico founded in 2007 by pianist, composer, and director Analía Goldberg. The ensemble debuted as the orchestra for the musical “Bien de Tango,” performing initially in Mercedes and San Luis before establishing a residency at the Buenos Aires Cultural Center Borges and at the renowned milonga venue Catulo. Goldberg assembled the sexteto following her departure from the established orchestra Color Tango, where she had spent eleven years as a pianist and arranger. The group brings together Goldberg with violinists Diego Lerendegui and Javier Kase, bandoneonists Nicolás Enrich and Javier Sanchez, and bassist Angel Bonura. Their musical approach combines contemporary compositional sensibilities with classical ensemble formats, creating accessible yet sophisticated arrangements of both classics and original works. The ensemble has performed extensively across Argentina, Brazil, and Europe, including appearances at international tango festivals in Montreal, Amsterdam, and Shanghai. Ojos de Tango released their album “Desvelo” in 2011, featuring both traditional tangos and original compositions by band members. The ensemble continues to maintain an active presence in Buenos Aires’ vibrant tango scene.
