Nochero

Nochero is a German-Argentinian tango quartet formed in Berlin in 2023 by musicians with extensive international tango performance backgrounds. The ensemble features bandoneonist and arranger Peter Reil, violinist Ulrike Dinter, pianist Ludger Ferreiro, and bassist Tomás Rösler. Their powerful and nuanced sound draws from the golden-era Argentine tango repertoire of composers including Astor Piazzolla, Juan d’Arienzo, and Osvaldo Pugliese. Since 2024, the quartet has collaborated with Argentine vocalist Catalina Sophie, expanding their repertoire with new arrangements. In 2024, Nochero received a cultural grant from Berlin’s Senate Department for Culture and Europe. The ensemble recorded their debut album “Cantar…siempre cantar” with Catalina Sophie in spring 2025, released September 28, 2025, featuring 16 tracks all arranged by Peter Reil. Nochero has performed at prominent international tango festivals including La Locura Innsbruck, Tangofestival RheinRuhr, and Queertangofestival Berlin, establishing themselves as a vital force in contemporary European tango.
