Los Reyes Del Tango

About

Los Reyes del Tango is a tango orchestra founded in June 1992 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Comprising nine experienced musicians—four bandoneon players, three violinists, a pianist, and a double bass player—the ensemble dedicates itself to the musical legacy of maestro Juan D’Arienzo, focusing on the golden-age tango repertoire of the 1940s and 1950s. The orchestra became a regular attraction at the prestigious La Ventana Restaurant in the historic San Telmo quarter, performing at Buenos Aires’ finest milongas including Torquato Tasso, La Viruta, and La Trastienda. After recording its debut CD “La Ventana” with EPSA Music in 1995, the ensemble toured Latin America in 1996. Since 1999, Los Reyes del Tango has been a featured performer at the International Congress of Argentinian Tango (C.I.T.A) and the city of Buenos Aires’ annual tango festival, earning recognition from major Argentine newspapers for their authentic interpretation of the D’Arienzo tradition. The orchestra remains one of the most appreciated ensembles in the contemporary Buenos Aires milonga circuit, maintaining and perpetuating the elegant, straightforward style of their principal musical influence.
