About

Bandonegro is a world-class Polish tango ensemble founded in 2010 in Poznań, comprising bandoneonist Michał Główka, violinist Jakub Czechowicz, pianist Marek Dolecki, and double bassist Marcin Antkowiak. The quartet debuted professionally in 2011 and won the international Pif Castelfidardo competition in Italy’s Tango Nuevo category that same year while still teenagers.
Their repertoire blends traditional Argentine tango with tango nuevo, original compositions, and elements of jazz and classical music. Since their early recognition, Bandonegro has performed across more than 30 countries and at prestigious festivals in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Latin America, including a notable five-week tour of Buenos Aires in 2019.

The ensemble has recorded six studio albums: Tango Nuevo by Astor Piazzolla (2012), Tanchestron (2017), ¡Hola Astor! (2019), Tangostoria (2020), Color Aires (2022), and Tanuevo (2025). They received the Medal for Young Art from the Polish government in 2020 and hold honorary patronage from Argentina’s Embassy in Poland. Bandonegro is recognized as one of Europe’s leading contemporary tango ensembles, bridging traditional Golden Age tango with modern innovation.
